Catamaran Trip – Observe Dolphins and Whales Through the Glass
Let’s start at the beginning. What makes this program so special? On 99% of the boats in Tenerife, you can only observe bottlenose, striped, spotted, and pilot whales (or even blue whales) from the deck. On this boat, however, thanks to its glass-bottomed sides, you can enjoy an exclusive view of their underwater movements as well. This makes for a truly unique experience. Of course, we also recommend admiring the dolphins and whales from the upper deck.
Our glass-sided catamaran departs from the port of Puerto Colón. During the 4.5-hour excursion, we sail all the way to the Los Gigantes cliffs and Masca beach, providing a beautiful perspective of Tenerife and an even greater chance to encounter multiple species of dolphins and whales.
During the 4.5-hour boat trip, you can see various whale and dolphin species up close. They often frolic and jump alongside the boat, clearly enjoying the waves created by the vessel and racing with the bow. Pilot whales live in a fixed area, so there is a 100% guarantee that you will see them. Bottlenose and spotted dolphins are migratory (fast swimmers), so the chance of seeing them is about 50-70%. However, smaller dolphins usually swim by the bow of the faster boats for several minutes.
