The village of Masca is a famous place in Tenerife, as it is located in one of the most beautiful National Park of the largest Canary Island. This tiny mountain village of only 100 inhabitants is located in the northwestern region of Tenerife, in the Teno Mountains and National Park. The Masca village and valley of Masca, at an altitude of 650 metres, is accessed by a very narrow, but good road. The views along the way are amazing, with the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding three Canary Islands of La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma. - Option 1 – hike down and hike up – Saturdays – difficult hikingÂ
- Option 2 – hike down and take the Masca water taxi. Fridays – moderate hikingÂ

Where is the Masca Valley?

Masca Hiking tour
The Masca hike is recommended for groups of friends, couples and families with older children. Hiking down and up is a difficult tour, hiking down and taking the water taxi is a moderately difficult hike. The group hike starts at 8:30 (option 1) or 11:15 (option 2) am in the village of Masca and leads along a well-maintained hiking trail to Masca beach where from a water taxi could take you to Los Gigantes harbour. The hike takes you through a varied landscape, past a stream, palm trees, unique cacti and huge rocks. With the help of an English-speaking mountain guide, you can explore and discover the famous Masca Valley. We believe that the Masca Gorge is one of the most beautiful places in Tenerife. We recommend it to adventurers and all those who enjoy hiking in an exciting and unique environment.

How do you get to Masca?
- By car, public transport, taxi or bus
- Tip by option 1: use public transport or your rented cars. Please note parking is limited at Masca village.Â
- Tip by option 2: Hire a car and meet the tour guides at the starting point
- from 12th July 2024 it is it is recommended to leave the car in Los Gigantes from where take a taxi to the starting point to Masca village
What should you know about the hiking tour in the Masca Gorge?

- Advance booking is required to visit the valley.
- There is a guided hike into the Masca Valley
- The hike is moderately difficult by option 1 – 10 km hike in total, downhill and uphill
- The hike is moderately difficult by option 2 – 5 km hike in total, downhill
- Difference in altitude option 1: 650 m downhill – 650 uphill

Where is the Masca tour meeting point?
- If you take the hike down and up tour the meeting point time and point is: 8:30 –Â Masca village
- If you take the hike down and water taxi tour the meeting time and point is: 9:00 –Â Puerto de Santiago
How far in advance do I need to book to Masca Valley?
- 2-3 weeks in advance is important to book as places sell out very quickly
How many people are allowed into Masca Valley?
- Only about 2-300 people are allowed into the valley per day
