Dream holiday in Tenerife – Preparations – First steps
If you’re reading these lines, you’re probably wondering what makes a holiday in Tenerife complete. First, I advise you to plan your holiday to Tenerife? What should you look out for? Direct flights are available from the main many cities like London, Barcelona, Budapest, Vienna, Riga, Manchester, Frankfurt, Berlin, Munich, Dublin etc. It is also worth looking at alternative connecting flights if you are not travelling with young children for a better price. Look, compare prices and think about which one is better for you in terms of saving time or money. The first step to a holiday in Tenerife is to buy your flight ticket to Tenerife in time or even last minute.
Holiday in Tenerife – Second step
One of the most important question is – where to book and what kind of accommodation in Tenerife?
Hotel or Apartment? Accommodation with meal or without? Ocenfront or not? North or South of Tenerife?
The most popular destination in Tenerife is Costa Adeje and its surroundings, as this area has very high sunshine hours and most of Tenerife’s hotels/apartments are located here. However, the Costa Adeje has become increasingly crowded recently, so it is worth considering whether you can cope with the crowded accommodation or whether you want to relax in quieter accommodation in Tenerife. I suggest you consider these. Once you’ve made your decision, choose hotels with 3-4-5 stars based on their ratings and look at value for money. My favourites are the H10 hotel chains, but there are plenty of good hotels in Tenerife. When browsing Booking.com, be sure to look for accommodation above an 8 review, whether you are looking for a hotel or an apartment.
If you are travelling with small children, the pool is a good option, as is accommodation near the beach. Plus, for 2,3,4 year olds, the Loro Park and the playgrounds in Tenerife are great fun during your holiday. The biggest playground, however, is the sandy ocean beach in Tenerife for all the little ones. So get your sandpit on.
Couples like half board as it means no cooking, but some people travel with just friends and book an apartment so they can be together in the accommodation. Tenerife also has the most sandy beaches on Costa Adeje, which is why accommodation is so popular here. In recent years, however, tourists have also started to explore the sunny southern coastal towns of La Caleta (which has become the most vibrant and chic new part of Costa Adeje), Calleo Salvaje, Playa San Juan, Alcala and Los Gigantes and its surroundings. In these towns of Tenerife, you will find plenty of sandy beaches during your holiday. For those who prefer a quieter environment, head for the mountain villages or Anaga and its surroundings. The northern parts, such as Icod de Los Vinos, La Orotava, Bajamar. The biggest tourist destination in the north is Puerto de La Cruz, famous for its beautiful black sand beaches and the Loro Park.
In a previous article we will help you decide whether to go north or south. Here we also wrote about the weather in Tenerife. But in short, the south is hotter, the north is much greener:)
