It’s a boot-trekking, trekking trip that’s not difficult, but is also an eye-catcher. The flora and diversity of the area around the Arafo volcano is one of the richest in Europe, and even worldwide. It gives us the feeling of walking in Jurassic Park, except for the dinosaurs. The volcano last erupted in 1705, remaining active for a record 54 days and clearing the landscape. We still see traces of this volcanic activity today, in a unique volcanic setting.
If it is sunny, you can observe a variety of butterflies and bees busily flitting about in the sun and flowers.
If the group is motivated, we can make our way to the San Agustin cave, where we can refresh ourselves with the famous water, which has a very low mineral content, and walk back the same way.
After our efforts and the living wonders of the Barranco de Añavingo, we will pick up our car and celebrate our hike with local food accompanied by special wine or beer at a traditional restaurant in Tenerife.
